Upcoming Standards:
Reading: We will be reading different fables and identifying the central lesson, message, or moral of each fable.
Writing: We will continue working on reviewing the Snow White performance. Students are writing a summary paragraph and opinion paragraph where they give their opinion of the performance and reasons to support the opinion. We will also be talking about the parts of a friendly letter and writing a persuasive letter later in the week. We will also be talking more about shades of meaning and synonyms. For example, chilly, cool, freezing, and frigid are all synonyms with different degrees of meaning.
Spelling: Next week will be r-influenced vowel patterns (_ar, _are, and _air).
Math: We will be collecting data and creating graphs, both on paper and on the computer. We will also be working on word problems.
Science: We will continue to discuss the students' moon observations from the previous night as well as learn about shadows and seasonal changes.
Social Studies: Our unit on Jackie Robinson will begin this week. The kids will be rotating through different stations to learn more about Jackie Robinson's contributions.
Health: We will continue learning more about teeth and dental hygiene.
